Camping & Caravan Park

Along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Countryside there are many areas to explore.

Nash Point Walk

A circular walk of 9 miles from Llantwit Major to the Lighthouse at Nash Point. The walk covers part of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast path with wonderful views of the coast. The going is flat and easy although the cliff-tops can be muddy after rain. Be careful not to go too close to the cliff edge and check the tides if you intend to walk along the beach. A limited range of cans, crisps, tea etc. is sold in season at the Nash Point car park and there are toilets in the small building when it is open. There is a charge for car parking but only in season. The long walk offers toilets and refreshments in Llantwit Major town and by the Llantwit Major beach.

Once at Nash Point, why not visit the Light House, which was the last manned lighthouse in Wales. Tours operate, subject to weather, and environmental conditions. Tours run from Easter until the end of September on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 2.30pm-5pm

Cosmeston Lakes

Over 100 acres of stunning lakes, woodlands and meadows. The lakes are home to a variety of waterfowl such as mute swans, great crested grebe and coot. Winter visitors such as pochard, wigeon, scaup and tufted duck can also be seen.

A circular path was constructed around the lake, in some places on raised duckboards and bridges through the shallow reed beds at the Lavernock end of the Lake. It was during the laying of the paths, thinning of dense undergrowth and general landscaping that the medieval village remains were found, excavated and developed into a visitor attraction.

Cosmeston Medieval Village which is a Heritage Project that is unique in Britain. The reconstructed 14th Century village is on its original site and consists of medieval buildings, gardens, rare breeds and a small museum. Tours of the village are by costumed villagers. Special events take place throughout the year such as jousting, medieval combat, archery, crafts, Halloween events and Summer Festivals.
